  Training notes of young heart surgeons in the US

  We invited 4 young heart surgeons who won the OPCAB contest to a practical skill seminar in Houston. What were the feelings of those young heart surgeons toward the training?

  Live surgical demonstration at Kamata Station in Ota Ward

  In collaboration with the Ota Ward, a surgical training experience seminar for the general public was held at "Granduo," a building located within JR Kamata Station. Dr. Hiroyuki Tsukui of Tokyo Women's Medical University and Dr. Kohei Abe of St. Luke's International Hospital were the instructors.

  BEAT world promotion“Training for the future”

  Training anytime, training anywhere. The development concept of BEAT and YOUCAN, namely, "anytime, anywhere, however many times" was made in to a video. Set in New York, Japan's training will be advertised worldwide.

  YOUCAN standard practice method LITA-LAD

  Thus far, no standard practice method for vascular anastomosis existed. Based on repeated discussions over 2 years with more than 10 skilled cardiovascular surgeons, the standard practice method for training with YOUCAN was made into a video. The procedure focuses, not on clinical efficiency, but on skills necessary for practice. Please make use of EBM's YOUCAN.

  Collaboration of EBM Dry Lab with the Foundation for Kobe International Medical Alliance

  Based on collaboration with the Foundation for Kobe International Medical Alliance, EBM's coronary artery bypass training was held in Kobe (2 courses, 4 times). We will continuously hold training sessions by collaborating with various regional bases.

  Waseda Cardiac Surgery Seminar

  Based on collaboration with Waseda University, regular surgical training sessions using BEAT and YOUCAN were held.

  EBM Fukushima restoration project

  We compiled the contents of the project funded by the 2013-2015 Fukushima Medical and Welfare Equipment Development Subsidy and the results therefrom. Why was "Fukushima" chosen? It was not just about the budget. Please observe the challenge which was made possible because of Fukushima.

STS (U.S. Society of Thoracic Surgeons) is the world's largest academic conference for cardiovascular surgery. At EBM, various equipment are constantly on display, and interviews were given to visiting physicians.
